Back To The Bakery Vol.2:
Rewinding the clock with legendary indie artists
as Bakery Music celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Celebrating 30 years of the legendary Thai label, ‘Bakery Music’, ‘Sony Music Thailand’ returns with another special project, ‘Back To The Bakery Vol.2.’ This time, the album brings together a roster of established indie artists who have been shaping the Thai music scene for over a decade, including SCRUBB, Musketeers, Win Sqweez Animal, The Parkinson, Death Of A Salesman, Yellow Fang, Youth Brush, Pla Nin Tem Barn, and temp.
Following the success of ‘Back To The Bakery Vol.1’ and ‘DOJO CITY 2024’, this new special album takes listeners on a nostalgic journey through time with reimagined versions of beloved hits. Each track offers a fresh perspective on classic songs, performed by artists who have grown up with the label.
The album features nine tracks, including:
‘Kam Tee Pen Suk’ (Words of Happiness): Originally by Yokee Playboy, this track is reimagined by Pla Nin Tem Barn with a unique twist.
‘Khao Rai’ (Bad News): Soul After Six's melancholic ballad is given a soulful makeover by The Parkinson, featuring a powerful brass section, lush keyboards, and energetic guitar riffs.
‘Kon Mai Pises’ (Not Special): Nadia's classic love song is reinterpreted by temp., featuring the band's signature brass instrumentation and Thai vocals.
‘Sabai Style’ (Casual Style): Yokee Playboy's upbeat track is given a rock makeover by Yellow Fang, complete with a catchy organ solo..
‘Mai Mee Hed Phol’ (No Reason): Originally by BOY Trai Bhumiratna, this song is transformed into a romantic rock ballad by Musketeers.
‘Yak Roo’ (Want to Know): Youth Brush brings a fresh perspective to this hidden gem from Mr. Sister's Side B album.
‘Dao’ (Star): SCRUBB pays tribute to Kristin Marie Newell's hit song with their signature sound.
‘Yak Lab Ta’ (Want to Close My Eyes): Win Sqweez Animal delivers a soulful rendition of Mr. Z's classic track, with a touch of his signature guitar playing.
‘Pord Ther’ (Please): Death Of A Salesman offers a poignant reinterpretation of Rudklao Amratisha's love song, featuring a prominent piano and a blend of the band's unique sound with complex emotions.
A standout feature of the album is a heartwarming narrative that connects all nine songs. The music videos, when watched sequentially, tell the story of a family's journey through time, viewed through the lens of an old car. Each song represents a different chapter in their lives, creating a sense of nostalgia and connection.
